DM Screen Project

Here is the DM Screen I am working on, The theam is like a spell book or a story book.

 I took a box and cut it up and glued it together, I had to cut the top down becuase I could not see over the top of it. I also made a White board to draw maps on. Ill have to post that later.

 I cut some card stock paper in to strips to use as boarders of the book and gave it a coat of gold paint.

 I got fabric reminets from walmart it was 30 cents for the book spine or binding.

 Glue the boarder down over the fabric and the pictures that I printed out.

Still some work to go but here is what I have so far........

Here is my new D&D character that will be rotating with my other Dwarf Norathall the Wander. A dwarf looks a little strange in a group of elves and some times there goals do not line up, so when this happens enter Clint Ryder the swash buckling aristocrate. This will be a really fun character to play and talk a lot of smack.

Ruler of the Sea

Hey every body its Mr. Nick!
While at the Long Beach Aquarium a couple weeks ago I had the need to have another fish tank. I used to have a 55 Gal. salt water tank and I have a few other fresh water ones as well. Now you may or may not know that I am cheap so a tank is a very expensive project. So I hit up Craigslist and found a tank. I found a perfect tank that was complete for 100 doll hairs the lady said that I could not get it that day so I called back the next day and it was gone. The hazards of CL. So the next day I found a smaller tank only 35 Gal. for 20 dollars with filter. So when I went to pick it up there was a smaller tank that was thrown in with the deal. so I set that one up for my daughter, who has also been wanting a fish tank. In honor of my fish aquarium in which Aquaman Ruled as a youngster I have put him back in action in this smaller one. I am going to try to set the other one up as a salt water tank for as cheap as possible; Ill keep you posted on the progress.

Quest with Me!

This Saturday I will be starting a 1st edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game with a local group. I have already met with the DM and rolled a character “Norathall the Wander” a Dwarven Thief/Cleric. I already have my figure painted in anticipation. I am really looking for ward to it.

Hero Questing

We played some Hero Quest today. you would Think it would not be so hard to arange a game. I ginally got every one together and played a game. We got throught two missions in the time it usally takes to do just one.

I have most of the set painted now. we have had to make some custom characters becuase there are players who drift in and out so in the sake of keeping the game going for the faithful and including people who have shown intrest I have added a archer class. Also so we where still a player short so I also let them use hench men, although they were as weak as goblins they really balacned things.

My Wife talked me into playing a game of Risk. Now its not that I dont like playing Risk but as you may know its not a quick play. I you ever play dont play with a loved one who bats there eyes at you when you try to attack them in the game. This will cause you to lose most likley. You have been warned.

Hem the Dwarft

I had a chance to play Hero Quest this past weekend and I got inspired to do some painting. I have not painted to many dwarfs before, they were very challenging. There are a lot of tiny spaces and hard to reach areas. I think it came out pretty good, you can leave a comment if you disagree.

Hero Quest Barbarian

I started painting my barbarian. I did not do a dip job on him. I started with a base coat and did some brown wash on his skin and boots, a dark blue wash on his loin cloth and black with a dark gray dry brush on his hair. I am still learning how to do eyes well but they came out pretty well i think.

HeroQuest Orc Dip Job

I recently got HeroQuest for the third time. I don't know why I have sold this game ever it is to awesome. I started playing with some friends that are all table top newbies. The playing has went well so far. To make the game more enjoyable and also because I like painted figures better; I have started painting them. If you look back in my post you will see figure that I painted in the past for this game. I used a dark undercoat and dry brushed the colors to give depth. More recently I have been experimenting with washes and inks; I have also learned about dips. I have never used a dip before so I decided to try it out on the orcs.

I put a quick base coat not to detailed.

Then I dipped each one and held them with a pare of pliers to shake off the excess. I took a brush and dabbed of the extra that pooled up in areas I did not want it.

Issue #15 Vikings

We do a little something different as Dan breaks out the board game Vikings by Zman games. We play as I learn it’s a cool game check it out. Tell us what you think about it and maybe we will do some other games. I you hate it and never want us to do it again tell us, but that would mean you would have to leave a comment and we know that will never happen.

Here is the line up that where you buy the island bits, ships and vikings. The numbers spin and as you count up fame points you move the blocks around the board.

+1 shirt of Parenting

Here is a shirt idea I was kicking around. Every one can use a boost to there stats and there is no harder thing to do than raise a kid with out screwing them up. Get the edge on the little tikes with a +1 shirt of Parenting. If any one thinks this is some thing they would ware let me know and I'll get some made up.

Dungeon Quest for Android

Here is the new game I have been playing for the last few days. I randomly down loaded it just to kill some time, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Its called Dungeon Quest. There are a lot of pop ups and in game purchases, but you can play the game and get great items with out paying any money. It seems like the stuff they charge for are more fluff items. they include avatar costumes and little glowing icons over you head so you really don't need them.



You get to play as a wizard or warrior and think there are other classes. I am not sure if you have to unlock them or pay. I am playing as a wizard.



you play trough 4 randomly generated floors and then do a boss battle. Sound generic but the game play is really fun.

Play Testing "Dungeon Crawl"

If you have listened to the pod cast you would have heard that I am working on a table top game. I have most of the rules worked out and started to play test to make sure they work well. I had to make some tweaks but its on its way.

I had to use some random models I had around as the models for the game are still being designed.  I am looking for a name for the game, I was thinking Dungeon Crawl but am open to other suggestions. Leave a comment with a name you think would be good below.

You want to waste some good time playing a cool game, Awesome check this out. Here is a really simple game that will suck you in with many race and class choices to play as. You have to read the txt file that comes with it for the commands and may have to google some. But its worth the effort. I sent most of last evening playing it.
