DC buildables

Here they are the DC buildables you may have seen my marvel series 2 buildables.  I talked the the vender who owned the vending machine and he hooked me up with 2 sets one of which I put up on ebay to try and get some of my money back in my pocket. One thing I like about this set is that the faces look really great the marvel set looked kinda off. The features did not quite line up if you get up close. The body however are kind of weakly air brushed. But they still look awsome.

Heroclix

When I started this blog I was getting a warhammer army together to play. Now any one who plays  knows its an expensive game to play and im not that close to a place to play, that coupled with most people where I live play 40k Im trying a new game. Seeing the price and the fact I work in a place where they sale heroclix was a good motivation to try it. One thing I do like is you can play online so even if you cant get a game going or you just need to get a hang of the rules you can play. There are simple and advanced rules so any one can play plus you can make make any dream team of super heros to play with. There so many pices to use and diffrent versions kf the same character you can spend some money here as well, but you dont have to with starter sets for about 20 dollars you and a friend can get with it quick and cheap. Most new sets also have a code to get the figures for the online game so you can practice with them. Over all a fun little game that has been out for a while and has a following.  You can check there site at heroclix.com to find a local retail location in your area.

Free comic book day heroclix

For free comic book day there was an Iron Man 3 heroclix. Its not a bad figure on the first clix you get running shot, penetraring shot, impervious and perplex. It has no extra abilities and after the first clix the abilities go down but you still get 3 attack for 150 points so not a bad figure.

Free Comic Book Day

Yesterday was free comic book day and the store was very busy, we also did some good business. There where people lined up at the door at both stores. Most people at the just came in and grabbed there free book and took off but we had a drawing if you spent five dollars or more and every time you pulled you won some thing. The other guys thought it would be funny to put on one of the pull tickets that they had won a date with me. My wife thought that was also funny when I told here about it after, especially because almost every one that pulled it was a guy. But the high light of the day was one of the friends of the store came in with a movie replica of the Captain America uniform from the movie. A lot of people where waiting for him to come in. It turned out that he had when to the Riverside store and since that was where the owner was he would not let him leave to come to our store. but he did finally make it.

Any geeks dream

I reasenly went into my local comic shop and the guy behind the counter asked me if I was still intrested in working there. I had talked to him and the owner months ago and didnt really expect anythingbto come of it. So I have been working as a float between his 2 stores. It pretty cool. There is a lot of busy work like making bags and boards but I get store credit and ghe work is not hard. And I get to talk about comics and read books off the shelves.

Kurt Helborg Painted

I just finished up the highlighting on my Kurt Helborg paint job.

 If you look back at what this model looked like when I got it you may be able to tell I painted over the old job. It was already primed and had some colors on it already. The armor was painted and most of the red areas where blue the areas that are copper also left as it was.

 I went with the classic red and white of the Reiksguard, I will use the same color schem on the rest of my Reiksgaurd units. A whole unit will look really cool with this paint job me thinks.
