Recent works

Here are a few miniatures that I have had a chance to paint
Here is my new D&D character that will be rotating with my other Dwarf Norathall the Wander. A dwarf looks a little strange in a group of elves and some times there goals do not line up, so when this happens enter Clint Ryder the swash buckling aristocrate. This will be a really fun character to play and talk a lot of smack.

Here are some GeneStealers that I painted last night, doing some experimaneting with colors.

HeroQuest Orc Dip Job

I recently got HeroQuest for the third time. I don't know why I have sold this game ever it is to awesome. I started playing with some friends that are all table top newbies. The playing has went well so far. To make the game more enjoyable and also because I like painted figures better; I have started painting them. If you look back in my post you will see figure that I painted in the past for this game. I used a dark undercoat and dry brushed the colors to give depth. More recently I have been experimenting with washes and inks; I have also learned about dips. I have never used a dip before so I decided to try it out on the orcs.

I put a quick base coat not to detailed.

Then I dipped each one and held them with a pare of pliers to shake off the excess. I took a brush and dabbed of the extra that pooled up in areas I did not want it.

Play Testing "Dungeon Crawl"

If you have listened to the pod cast you would have heard that I am working on a table top game. I have most of the rules worked out and started to play test to make sure they work well. I had to make some tweaks but its on its way.

I had to use some random models I had around as the models for the game are still being designed.  I am looking for a name for the game, I was thinking Dungeon Crawl but am open to other suggestions. Leave a comment with a name you think would be good below.

Crissis suit

Here's a towel crisis suit that I painted following the color scheme that I started on my fire cast warriors. I've always been partial to the colors silver and purple with some green to brake it up. I think they look really good on the mech models. I have not been able to get much cleaning done recently but building an entire army painted this way it's going to look really awesome. Tell me what you think below.

Steam tank 2

I made more progress on my Empire steam tank I finished painting the commander I tried a different technique on his yellow. Instead of using a black 2 highlights I use the brown I think it looks a little better but I'm still unsure. Please leave comments and tell me which one you think looks better.

Empire Steam Tank

I have been buying and selling a lot of warhammer lately, but of course I had to keep some for my self. I got another war wagon unpainted and a old school steam tank.

It had some paint on it so I primed the front but left the base coat on the back. It was painted the traditional blue and red, but that does not match my color sceam.  Yellow is for war machines and artillery.  Now yellow is very had to work with, at least for me. Here is what I have done. The driver still needs painting.

This old school model di not have a steam gun; so I am looking for a smallish cannon or some type of rifle to put on a swivel. I am thinking of making some kind of hose come out of the back of it.

If any one know a good way to do yellow let me know.

Kurt Helborg Painted

I just finished up the highlighting on my Kurt Helborg paint job.
If you look back at what this model looked like when I got it you may be able to tell I painted over the old job. It was already primed and had some colors on it already. The armor was painted and most of the red areas where blue the areas that are copper also left as it was.
I went with the classic red and white of the Reiksguard, I will use the same color schem on the rest of my Reiksgaurd units. A whole unit will look really cool with this paint job me thinks.

Empire Painted Wizards

I found some more time to do some painting.
I would like to add some copper or gold to his chest plate book and sword to spice it up. and the yellow stripes I added because it was looking plane.
There are still have some color to add the hilt of the sword and the details on his hat and jacket. but all and all not bad.

War Priest Painted

I have not had much time to paint lately with work and a little girl, much less do a character. I have been painting a unit of halberdiers, but painting regular units can become a little tedious. So I thought I would do something a little more detailed. I got this war priest a while back and striped it from the paint job it came with. This is the first model I put eyes on. I came out pretty good. I wish the picture of the face where better. That is as close as I could get with my camera.

Standing on their own

I finally got the bases I ordered on Ebay, took a while to get here but the price was right.
I got 100 bases for $8 including shipping. I am tring to play my first game in a long time this Wendsday so I have to get them off the goofy Battlemasters trays.

The fit was really tight so I had to widen them with a razor befor they would fit.

Looking better already!

Now thats more like it. I am still coming up with my list and will post it when I do.
I dont know how big an army they are playing at the shop yet but I'm aiming for 2000, that seems a safe bet. But tring to fit in Karl Franz seems tough and with out him in the list it seems a little bland a force to feild. I also have my war preist and wizard coming in the mail off ebay; they will not be here by this wensday though.

I picked up a pack of spearmen but they do not match the classic look of the rest army. They will have to do for now and Ill keep looking for some older ones.
